DNS

DNS: The Domain Name System is a hierarchical naming system for Internet resources. It acts like a ‘phone book’ for the Internet, translating domain names (e.g. www.easynetconnect.net) into the IP address of the web server that hosts that domain (e.g. 195.40.70.11). All of Easynet Connect’s business Internet access products enable you to register your domain (or transfer it, if already registered) on the domain name system, so that your web site can be found on our servers.

Domains

Domains: Domains are proprietary ways of labelling web sites and their content. So, an example of a domain name is www.easynetconnect.net. This web site can be accessed at the URL http://www.easynetconnect.net, using the domain name system to locate its web server and the http protocol to request and receive content from it. All of Easynet Connect’s business Internet access products offer hosting for a single domain.

Download speed

Download speed: The bandwidth available for downloading files, web pages, emails etc from the Internet to your computer. Our EtherStream™ offers up to 40Mb download speed with zero contention, SureStream offers up to 4Mb download speed with zero contention, ADSL business broadband offers up to 8Mb download speed and SDSL offers up to 2Mb download speed.
